Medical training

Since 2017 we have been offering the “Medical Training” seminar for anyone interested. The prerequisite is knowledge of first aid (ideally the last EH course was not more than two years ago!).

Self-study, eLearning and face-to-face teaching

The seminar, which lasts a total of 64 teaching units (UE) of 55 minutes each, consists of

  • 48 units of face-to-face teaching including exams
  • 16 UE self-study / eLearning

Together and in addition to anatomical and physiological knowledge, a great emphasis is placed on practical training.

The participants go through various practical circles and case study rounds before they can prove their skills in the final success test.

Topics

  • Repetition of first aid (case studies)
  • Principles / PPE & hygiene, procedure of an operation, dangers at the site
  • Documentation
  • Material & equipment knowledge
  • Initial diagnostics (ABCDE, WASB, etc.)
  • Impaired consciousness, helmet removal
  • Acute illnesses (diabetes mellitus, seizures, stroke, vascular occlusions)
  • Breathing disorders (bronchial asthma, hyperventilation), measures (including Guedel/Wendl tube, suction, handling of oxygen)
  • Circulatory disorders (shock, collapse, monitoring – pulse, RR, pulseoxy, temperature)
  • Resuscitation circuit (adults, children, infants, with and without aids (resuscitation bag, larynx tube, AED)
  • Wound care
  • Bone and joint injuries as well as various immobilization measures (splints, shovel stretcher, vacuum mattress, spine board, KED system)
  • Rescue from the danger area and transport (carry ring, KatS stretcher, alternatives)
  • Medication and assistive measures (assistance with venous access, setting up infusions, preparing medication, measuring BG, assistance with endotracheal intubation)
  • Polytrauma, TBI and chest trauma
  • Thermal emergencies
  • Regulatory
  • case studies
  • Written and practical exam

Further training in the medical sector

But the knowledge learned needs to be refreshed regularly and that is why, in addition to resuscitation training, we also offer various training courses for paramedics throughout the year. The following dates have already been planned – further dates are already being planned:
