A company paramedic according to DGUV principle 304-002 is a medically trained worker with a course volume of 95 teaching units including a final examination. This is a course certified by the accident insurance companies and professional associations, which can be completed at various schools.

Compared to the first aider, the task of the more extensively trained company paramedic is to provide extended first aid. In addition to the basic first aid measures, he also knows how to use equipment such as resuscitators, secretion suction pumps and oxygen treatment devices.

The company paramedic is the first point of contact for a medical emergency in the commercial sector. In addition to emergency care and first aid, the company paramedic can also be involved in company health management, for example. Another area of responsibility is the maintenance and control of company emergency equipment, such as checking first aid kits and other facilities such as eye showers or stretchers.
