Education and training of virtual operation support teams

The VOSTacademy office has been based at the TCRH Training Center Retten Mosbach for a long time. The VOSTacademy offers hybrid education and training for virtual operation support teams.

Measures in the event of major disasters

Earthquakes can lead to major damage. The first measures that have proven successful in international aid are first-response teams, which are trained according to uniform, internationally valid criteria. The TCRH Mosbach offers numerous scenarios for the practical education and training of such Urban Search & Response Teams (USAR).

TCRH Mosbach establishes a competence center for research, development and application

The Training infrastructures and scenarios of the TCRH Mosbach offer researchers, developers and users Competence Center for Technical Location operational options,

• to develop ideas
• Develop products and test their market readiness
• Integrate hardware and software applications into operational processes.

The TCRH serves all target groups as a platform for the implementation of shared know-how. The training courses offered by the TCRH enable users to optimize the use of technical positioning.

The Continest team tests folding container systems for civil, government and military applications at the TCRH Mosbach.

On June 16, 2019, the Institute for Rescue Engineering and Emergency Response (IRG) at TH Köln and the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg launched a newly developed drone for the rescue as part of the joint research project “Flying Localization System for the Rescue and Recovery of Buried Victims” (FOUNT²). Searching for buried victims was tested in a simulated real-life operation on the grounds of the Training Center Rescue and Help (TCRH) in Mosbach (Baden-Württemberg).

Destroyed buildings, burnt-out cars, an overturned bus with broken windows, mountains of rubble, concrete and iron: in the diffuse light of the winter morning, a scene like something out of a disaster film reveals itself on the site of the former Neckartal barracks in Mosbach in the Neckar-Odenwald district. The Americans know how to package things effectively: “Disaster City” is the name of a huge area in Texas where people train between ruins, in wrecks or under huge amounts of rubble on how to provide help in an emergency and save lives. A very similar training facility is currently being built on the Hardberg in Neckarelz.”
