November 30.11.2022, 19.00, XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.: Online event for future emergency services (dog handlers, search team helpers)

Working together against ASF with hunting and rescue dogs: BRH President Jürgen Schart and project coordinator Dr. Christina Jehle at an online information event on November 30th at 19 p.m.

Cadaver experiments with human-dog teams

In the event of an outbreak of African swine fever, the search for wild boars that have died from the disease is an essential part of official animal disease control. There is a lot of infectious virus material in the carcasses and their surroundings, which can infect other wild boars and spread the disease. Therefore, the carcasses of dead wild boars must be found and disposed of as quickly as possible. The search for fallen game/carcasses with specially trained human-dog teams has proven to be very effective.

MLR Baden-Württemberg is taking precautions

The TCRH Training Center Rescue and Help was commissioned by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Rural Areas, Nutrition and Consumer Protection (MLR) to train the cadaver testing teams and to prepare them for search operations in Baden-Württemberg. In the event of an ASF outbreak, these search teams can then be requested by the district offices or the animal disease control authorities for the carcass tests.

The project is supported by the Hunting Dog Association e.V. (JGHV) and the BRH Federal Association of Rescue Dogs e.V.

The costs for the training (mileage, accommodation, meals, training materials) are borne by the TCRH on behalf of the MLR. In addition, expenses will be reimbursed for assignments.

Information about the project can be found at https://asp.tcrh.de
