Open Course – Hostile Environment Awarness Training (H.E.A.T.) for non-military personnel
Safety training for traveling and working in high-risk areas
It is often the professional insurance companies that provide a H.E.A.T. – Mention training as a prerequisite for an insurance relationship. Generally for travel destinations characterized by high crime rates, natural disasters, war or crisis situations.
The H.E.A.T. courses at the TCRH Mosbach are offered under the umbrella of the H.E.A.T. Academy by the company MP Protection. For years, the trainers have been training and protecting people from NGOs, authorities and organizations who travel to crisis areas on a professional basis.
Education/training goals
- You learn from trainers with decades of experience in crisis areas.
- You become more sensitive to hidden risks and train your danger radar.
- You learn to minimize damage and remain able to act in emergency situations.
- You expand your network.
Course structure
One third classroom, two thirds practical training in a safe (injury-free) learning environment.
Target groups
The content is adapted to the needs of the respective authority, company or non-governmental organization (NGO) that wants to prepare its staff for risks in fragile contexts.
Topics (selection)
- Behavior in critical security situations (fire, improvised explosive devices) Mission Security Planning – MSP
- Behavior at checkpoints, roadblocks or ambushes,
- Appropriate behavior in the event of danger from mines, unexploded ordnance (UXOs) and improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
- Handling confidential information
- Orientation: map, compass and GPS technology
- Radio technology, communication training
- Road traffic accidents abroad
- First aid when deployed abroad
- Coping with stress, trauma and hostage situations
- etc.
Education/training center
The H.E.A.T. Academy is based in the Training Center Rescue and Help (TCRH) in Mosbach. The TCRH offers diverse and unique offerings Education, training and practice objects.
Buildings with scenarios, special training facilities and open spaces are available on a core area of eleven hectares. All country-specific scenarios can be presented here.
