
Fighting African swine fever (ASF)
Since 2021, the TCRH has been training carcass search teams in biological and technical detection on behalf of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Rural Areas, Food and Consumer Protection and has made these teams available to animal disease control authorities for the search for dead game. Since 2022, these teams have also been deployed to combat animal diseases.
Affected upper, middle and lower authorities will receive a comprehensive assistance system to combat the animal disease ASF, consisting of
- Technical advisors for operational and administrative staff,
- Specialist consultants for operational and strategic optimization of operational and administrative processes,
- Veterinary and cynological practitioners,
- Risk analyses, education and training measures as well as scientific support of occupational safety, animal welfare and operational organisation,
- Command systems (operational section leaders, sub-section leaders, etc.) with continuous accessibility (24/7/365)
- Software and hardware systems as well as process flows for audit-proof and GDPR-compliant operational data processing as well as daily situational awareness,
- off-road vehicles, drones, mobile operations centers, hygiene locks, etc.,
- Search teams (biological / technical tracking),
- quality assurance systems,
- sampling and recovery teams,
- Fence inspection teams and
- Special teams for special tactical measures such as emergency repairs to fences and barriers.

The operation is carried out according to the management principles of emergency services organizations in accordance with Service Regulation 100. Those responsible are particularly obliged to maintain confidentiality in accordance with official standards for the implementation of sovereign orders.
The technical expertise is provided by the project partners BRH Federal Association of Search & Rescue Dogs e.V., the Hunting Dog Association (JGHV) eV, the competence centers Biological tracking and Technical location of the TCRH and the Research and Development Department of the TCRH guaranteed.

Viewing event for dog handlers
Half-day sighting events are offered for dog handlers who have applied. TCRH invites applicants to the screening events via email.

Examination regulations ASP of the TCRH Mosbach
Below are the currently valid examination regulations for cadaver search teams of the TCRH Training Center Rescue and Help. The PO was developed together with the Hunting Dog Association (JGHV) and the BRH Federal Association of Rescue Dogs e.V.
Veterinary Days
For officials from veterinary offices / animal disease control authorities and related departments such as disaster control officers, regular in-person and online events are offered, which are supported by the Ministry of Rural Affairs, Food and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg, the ASF competence team of the Wildlife Research Unit of the Agricultural Center Baden-Württemberg and Forestry BW.
Here, all aspects of the training, but also in particular the use of carcass search teams and the cooperation with the authorities combating animal diseases, are described in a practical way.
