ASF in the wild boar population – how does the search for fallen game from the air work?

Drone teams from district offices, hunters, fawn rescue and other copter pilots who are interested in aerial carcass testing in the event of an ASF epidemic are invited. The speaker Thomas Kälber, head of the technical location department of the BRH Federal Association of Rescue Dogs and head of the TCRH Technical Location Competence Center, and his team have extensive knowledge in locating missing people, fawns, wild animals and wild boar carcasses.


Program

  • Welcome and short project presentation
  • Deployment of drone teams in the event of an epidemic – who commissions whom?
  • Minimum technical requirements for equipment
  • Software-supported image evaluation (possibilities, requirements)
  • Allocation of search areas – where can searches be carried out from the air and where are dogs needed?
  • Division of search areas and flight planning – which areas can be flown from when and in what time?
  • In which databases can the necessary information be found (power lines, protected areas, etc.)?
  • What do you have to pay attention to when flying over various protected areas?
  • How do you determine the flight route? Manual flight vs. flight planning in advance
  • How are the areas flown over and the finds documented?
  • Carcass found – what now? Communication with the operational section management
  • Future training offerings at TCRH
  • If necessary, practical demonstration on the outdoor area

Participating specialist users also have the opportunity to present their hardware and software solutions.

A joint lunch will be held at around 13.00 p.m.
